Interdisciplinary Institute

At Interdisciplinary Institute, the focus is to present cutting edge research in an artistic and performance setting across the disciplines, reaching marginalized audiences in the global community.

Dr. Joy Yang founded the institute with the intent to facilitate a laboratory, or hub for creative play and art-science interchange. 

They have worked closely with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Krannert Art Museum, surrounding community, Clark Lindsey Village, Cunningham Children’s Home, 40 North, Asian Improv aRts, Stanford University, San Francisco State University, Columbia University, UC Riverside, and now University of Arkansas. 

A secondary mission is to support their educational initiatives, which include activating the space for community use, whether for events, concerts, workshops, recordings and more. They also partner with local foundations to accept donations that fund our projects.
