The Holidays are Coming to Champaign Center

Just like Santa I have been making my list and checking it twice for all of the things that I can add to my holiday bucket list this year. I must have been on someone’s nice list this year, with the number of great things that I know I will be able to cross off right here in Champaign Center! No need to call Dasher, Dancer, or Vixen as there is FREE PARKING all month in the Hill St Garage to help you get in on all of the holiday wonders happening in our community.

I don’t want a lot this year but there is just one thing I need – for the days to stop getting shorter giving me less time to finish all of that VERY IMPORTANT shopping. Well we are in luck! During the Holiday Shop Hop After Hours event happening on December 14, you can cross off everyone on your list by taking advantage of the assortment of Downtown Champaign businesses staying open and support your community all in one swoop! Another way to shop local and support your community while doing the Holiday Shopping Hustle would be to check out the Mistletoe Market happening at The Venue CU on December 17 to scoop up some last minute goodies from our local artisans, makers and creaters.

Holiday Shop Hop After Hours is going on at various stores in Downtown Champaign.

It may be Park Ave and not Santa Claus Lane but dear ole Saint Nick will is coming to The Virginia Theatre to see the kiddos for the Visits with Santa events. No matter if they have been naughty or nice, tell your little ones to prepare their list and get ready to meet the big man in red. Santa will be at the The Virginia Theatre ready to chat with the children on Dec 7, 14, and 20 from 5 – 7pm.
